Just the way you are..

After watching "Roxanne", I thought how important for us to be proud of real us.

C.D, who could not have confidence in his nose in front of Roxanne finally did.

I think many people have inferiority complexes like C.D and they try to hide those inferiority complexes. I also have one and I am hiding that.

However this film tells me that inferiority complex can be a specialty. So I want to change my inferiority complex to my specialty.

I liked this movie and Steve Martin. I always watch the movie from the actors. So I want to check movies that he is in.

Melting Pot.

My host mother is from Philippine and my roommate is from Turkey

and my host father is American and I am from Japan.

So in our house there are 4 cultures.

It sounds messy that 4 people who have own cultures live in house but actually it is fun.

We live based on American culture but we cherish own coulture.

My host mother from Philippine always cook philippine rice and roommate from Turkey can not eat pork because of religion. My host father always cook traditional american food, and I always pray in Japanese before eating.

Sometimes because of different cultures there are conflicts but it is good chance for me to learn other cultures at the same time.

Before, we have 5 cultures: American, Philippine, Taiwan, Colombia, and Japanese.

I thought that I would learn only American culture before I came here but in fact there are many cultures and there are many things that I have learned.

This picture is when there were 5 cultures in house.(2Japanese, 1 Taiwanese, and 2 Colombian)

Sic transit gloria

I like this word which means 'glory fades'. I think this word shows Max's attitude toward himself, his friends, and his family.

He is content with Rushmore and all his activities until he gets academic probation.

Max who in Rushmore students and does good on extracarricular activities and does poor on his classes. However, he is not a stupid student rather he is a genius student. He is so genius that he wrote a play about WATERGATE when he was 2nd grade and he uses fighing scenes to express his opinion which is people can raraly understand.

But in his life, he is like a child. When Herman deceive him, he revenges him with childish ways.

I think he is not enough old to control his feeling.

However he becomes able to control his feeling and to think others even sacrificing himself ant the end.

I think this is big change happened in his mind. Even his peaks, being a student of Rushmore

, his love toward Ms Cross, or his family before his mother died, pass, he believes that he can do well. I feel these things from the word, Sic transit gloria.

I like this film because of story and also music.

about Mei..

I think Mei is little bit selfish. Mei does not try to adjust to learner centered classes in the US.

Almost all classes in the US are learner centered classes and it will confusing for people from country where classes are usually lecturer centered classes. Those people have to adjust to that type of class. People usually come to the US because they want to come, so they usually try to adjust to it so that they can learn many things in the US. However Mei does not try to adjust to it but just stays same as she have been in China. It is all her fault to make herself almost fail, but she says that it is her teacher's fault to say her she is almost fail after midterm test. I do not feel that she had been eager to come to the US. My opinion sounds harsh but I think all students should try their best to get many things. If they do not try hard, it is waste of money and time. If she comes to the US because she wants to come, she should try her best even type of class is different from type of class is her own country.

Also, Mei reminds me my pet, cat. Mei is my cat's name. She is black kitten, and runs around the house.

This story mkes me homesick...
