I studied about puctuality this week.
I have asked 5 American students about punctuality and all students answered be on time is important. Even though I heard that western people are more indifferent with time, they seemed caring time.
I am usually be on time because I think it is important thing to keep commitment. However I understand there are people who do not be on time.
One of my friends is so lazy man and when we were supposed to meet at 5PM, he came one hour late!! He is always late for at least one hour. So we decided to tell him a meeting time one hour earlier so that we can meet on time.
Punctuality and being late are people's habit so it is hard to change them.
Although I think being on time is important, I have been late for 8 hours!!
I had part-time job at fast food restaurant which is open 24 hours. When I worked at 22-6 (that day I was to meet friends at 12) I fell asleep and I woke up at 20 oclock! That meeting was for me since I was to go to America in a week so my friends planned it for me!! I felt awful and called to my friends and headed to there hastily. Since I felt sorry for making them wait long time, I decide not to be late any more.

Islam Beliefs...
This week, we did group presentation and our topic was about religion. Since my religion is considered just way of living and it is just considered religiously only when funeral, so this topic was little hard for me. This topic's main character is Muslim and shows the difficulties to follow his religion in the U.S.
This was good chance for me to know about Islam.
I knew only they cannot eat pork but actually their beliefs are more than that.
In the world, almost a quarter of people are Muslims.
They pray 5 times a day.
They believe in god which cannot be idolized.
There is a month called Ramadan when people stop eating during day time.
and many more...
Also I was happy to have presentation of this topic because my housemate who is from Turkey is Muslim. I had not talked to him much because I misunderstood him. When our host father made dinner using meat for us, he did not eat because according to Islam he cannot eat meat without having been prayed before killed. However at that time, I thought he was a selfish.
After researching about Islam, I could understand him a little bit more.

D.E.B.S.
After watching this movie, I realized that I had avoided to think these kind of heavy things. I have never thought about sexuality orientation because I thought it is not my field. I know there are people who are gay but I never thought about it further.
This film draws that kind of thing which usually tends to be a heavy topic so lightly that I could think little about it. One thing that I think strongly during watching the film was that there are people who are not aware of themselves that they are gay. Amy had not realized that she is gay until she met Lucy.
Its Japanese title is so weird that I thought this film must be boring because films that have a weird Japanese title are usually boring, but this film was not that bad. There are action scenes, funny scenes in the film and I enjoyed it.

Most Fruitful Yuki

I wondered if "Most Fruitful Yuki" in Juno is real and I searched but it was fake...
If it was real, I would read because it sounds fun. In Juno, there are many things like this and I really enjoyed it.
Before I watched it, I assumed that this film's story is one student who got pregnant and who wanted to have an abortion and her friend who opposed her having an abortion like case study. However, it was different from my assumption. This story was totally different from case study.
Giving the baby to adaptive paerents is one of the options that Rachel has but she never think of that and is about having an aborion. I could think both options which are totally different but I still coul not answer one option. I think it depends on situation...

My first Holloween in the US..
On Friday, many kids with costume came to the house. This is the my first experience in the U.S so I was excited but there were no candy where it supposed to be!! My host father and I looked for but we could not find... So host father gave his own candy to them. Host mother put it away and my host father got angry that she has not appreciated american culture because she is from Phillipine. This night was unforgettable night not for Holloween but for fighting.
The next day I was little worried about them but they were ok.
This week my laptop broke so I could not have enough time to watch the Cyrano de Bergerac and I bought a new one so if I have time I want watch it again.
I think it is also good movie. There are many similarities between Roxxane and Cyrano de Bergerac. For example, in both films there are scene that they talk to Roxxane at valcony.

Just the way you are..

After watching "Roxanne", I thought how important for us to be proud of real us.
C.D, who could not have confidence in his nose in front of Roxanne finally did.
I think many people have inferiority complexes like C.D and they try to hide those inferiority complexes. I also have one and I am hiding that.
However this film tells me that inferiority complex can be a specialty. So I want to change my inferiority complex to my specialty.
I liked this movie and Steve Martin. I always watch the movie from the actors. So I want to check movies that he is in.

Melting Pot.
My host mother is from Philippine and my roommate is from Turkey
and my host father is American and I am from Japan.
So in our house there are 4 cultures.
It sounds messy that 4 people who have own cultures live in house but actually it is fun.
We live based on American culture but we cherish own coulture.
My host mother from Philippine always cook philippine rice and roommate from Turkey can not eat pork because of religion. My host father always cook traditional american food, and I always pray in Japanese before eating.
Sometimes because of different cultures there are conflicts but it is good chance for me to learn other cultures at the same time.
Before, we have 5 cultures: American, Philippine, Taiwan, Colombia, and Japanese.
I thought that I would learn only American culture before I came here but in fact there are many cultures and there are many things that I have learned.

This picture is when there were 5 cultures in house.(2Japanese, 1 Taiwanese, and 2 Colombian)
